Conversing with the spheres
A walk through the Bergfriedhof in Sighişoara
Now fades the glimmering landscape on the sight,
And all the air a solemn stillness holds,
Save where the beetle wheels his droning flight,
And drowsy tinklings lull the distant folds. --- Thomas Grey
One of the most beautiful graveyards I know is the Saxon Bergfriedhof in Schäßburg/Sighişoara. The cemetery was established on top of the School Hill in the late 18th century. It is located next to the Hill Church and very picturesque. About 2000 graves leave only little space for alleys.
